Milan, Verona & Bergamo, Italy- September 2014

Image
Hello Hello!! So this post revolves entirely around Italy and the ACA Convention that I attended in September of 2014. During this time, Mike was in Turkey for a short mission, so he will have to write his own post of his experiences. (He is, by the way, extremely excited that I'm catching up on all of this). It all started when I was looking to network for my Master(piece)'s in Mental Health Counseling. I met the former president who lives in a town nearby and she instructed me to sign up as a student for the convention that would be held in Italy. At the same time, Chi Upsilon Chi (CSI) at Capella University, sent an email out saying they would sponsor students who were interested in attending the convention. I was lucky enough to live pretty close being in Germany, so I immediately responded. I initially thought that Mike would go with me, so I did not take the school's offer for a shared room. That was a mistake, because Mike didn't end up being able to attend! Mo...

Home Based Businesses

I saw a post this morning, offering consultant sign ups at a discount for a company called Pure Romance. I have been to a few parties prior to moving to Germany and simply LOVED them. Now, I am an Independent Distributor for AdvoCare and I love the products, but the business is hard to come by in Germany. You'd think that several wives in one place would be the ideal environment for someone like me to make tons of money. But alas, it isn't. There is this tricky thing called Home Based Business approval, here in this Army Garrison. Unfortunately, products like AdvoCare is NOT HBB approved because of the German customs import laws. This deterred me from further pursuing the business here, and just advertising the product. However, I have also come to the conclusion that I do not care for the laws and rules, and I'll sell it anyways. Advertising though, is hit or miss. This is why I am hesitant to even think of beginning something like Pure Romance. With that being said, I...

Welcome Back

So I was going back over some of the old posts from like.... a year ago, and realized the only reason I ever created this was to keep people informed of my life. It was to create a hobby for myself in which I could escape, do something fun, enjoy.  Turns out school, work, and Netflix trumped this hobby. However, I have new inspiration, that will come later. First, I wanted to point out my new year's resolutions from January 2, 2014: Save money: We have a wedding in 6 months. No more charging: Pay off the credit card by the end of 2014. It can be done! Losing weight (of course) and sticking to it. There is no reason that I can't be as dedicated as I was 3-4 months of my life in 2012, now. Let's do this! Leaving the past in the past- I have had trouble letting things go. It's time to change that New job, new you. I need to get back to my main focus, and that's my Master's degree. Transferring to a new job will help me focus more on school Chic-Hippie...

Garmisch, Germany- Our first big trip!

Image
Hello Hello! It's definitely not August 2014, but I'm catching up. I've made a goal for myself to cherish and document all of the travel we've done both in blog and scrapbook. Although I've never been one to keep up a diary, in a few short months school will end and I'll have free time before leaving this country. I'm already anxious and upset about it, but I've vowed to myself to finish these damn blog posts, if it's the last thing I do in Germany! We traveled to Garmisch, Germany for our first camping trip as a married couple. Yes, I said 'MARRIED COUPLE' because we had just returned from our amazing wedding ceremony. I'll add that one in someday, but it's too good to be posting all over the web. This is in my memory as one of the worst trips we've ever taken, by far!! We started with a leisurely drive South through Munich and into the mountains. By the time we left, which was about two hours later than planned (poor ...

Struggles

We all have struggles, it's part of life, normal. We are taught since we could understand words how to deal with them. If you hit someone because you want their toy, you have to say sorry and find another toy, until the toy you want becomes available. You have to share. You have to ask nicely, even if you don't know how to. You have to wake up early to go to school. You have to finish grade school and get into a good college. You have to dodge the popular crowd in school, unless you are that crowd, then you have to decide who you are going to torment. You have to get accepted into college and say goodbye to childhood friends. You have to break up with people and move on. You have to move away from family and find a job. You have to deal with your parents fighting. You have to find a way to make an entire day of working out, walking the dog, working full time, going to school full time, cooking dinner, planning a wedding, feeding your husband AND find time to blog about it. We...

A year in review. Hello, and welcome back to my blog that I will try to update, as it is one of my many resolutions. This past year of 2013, has been extremely life changing for me. I want to walk everything through my resolutions, and the big events this year, because let's face it- Facebook updates seriously do not do it justice. I always like to look back on the posts that I made. So I created a collage using one of those silly apps. But I still don't think it really satisfied me. Here are my most important resolutions: Save money: We have a wedding in 6 months. No more charging: Pay off the credit card by the end of 2014. It can be done! Losing weight (of course) and sticking to it. There is no reason that I can't be as dedicated as I was 3-4 months of my life in 2012, now. Let's do this!
