Where have I been?

Image
Dang, it's been a long time since I've said anything to ya'll! Doesn't that sound like a true American hick's accent? Hahahaha! Seriously though, what's been going on? Since we last spoke, a lot has happened. Between being offered a job, getting our household goods delivered, visiting the states and cleaning up after my husband; I've been extremely busy. On the bright side, we finally have our family reunited and ready to start this adventure, whole and happy. It has been a really rough transition for the both of us, but receiving our goods from home really helped. You never really know how much you take your material items for granted, until you go two months without them. Also, pets! They really bring a different kind of energy to the home. Mike's rabbit Peter is doing well in his room and Archer has become quite comfortable here in the house in Germany. The ride here was interesting, but I will get into that later. I have my Xbox, kitchen items a...

Sprechen sie Deutsche?

Image
This is a photo of the Marktplatz in Amberg, Germany. We spent the morning there shopping over the Memorial Day weekend! It was a little cold and rainy but it turned out to be a really great time. Mike and I are trying to learn German. I think this week I am going to buzz through the house with sticky notes and label everything in German. We need to know some words more while we are out on the economy shopping or eating. There is also a German class that the Army provides  but it doesn't start until July. We are totally pumped though! Some news for everyone? We don't have much to tell. I am starting to get back into my workout routine, as well as begin my AdvoCare business over here. Also, we bought some furniture and will post pictures whenever we get our stuff here. We now have a bunny rabbit in the house! He needed a home while his parents were on leave, but they decided just to give him to us so that he could get the proper attention that he needs. His name is Peter! O...

Bumps in the road...

Image
So for the past ten days we have been finishing up in-processing and moving into our home. It is beautiful two bedroom townhouse, with all new fixtures, appliances, hardwood floors and tons of storage. It is temporarily furnished until some of our things arrive or until we have our own furniture. Turns out, having furniture is much more helpful than I thought! ;) There is also a resource called The Lending Closet on base. We fill out our information, go through their inventory and just take what we need. After signing for the items borrowed, we keep them until our household goods arrive. It is pretty great actually and a huge money saver. There is absolutely no sense in purchasing new pots and pans, dishes, and glasses when I literally own everything already. I'm totally thankful for that!! Onto the next bit of information- keeping it positive! The area of Germany in which we are located is Bavaria. Bavaria is not only famous for its beer, but it is famous for its beautiful ...

When in... Germany!

Image
So Mike and I successfully PCS'd! Yes it was hard, yes it was stressful, but now we are finally here! And I'm bored again... A week ago I took about 5 flights to get here, because the Army loves my airport anxiety so much they decided to give me three layovers, and delays. We made it to Baltimore, checked out the USO and waited in the long line for the Patriot Express. Turns out, from BWI Airport, the flight is only 7 hours for military personnel. All guests coming to see us will have to travel commercial, but we will know more about that later. The plane was massive. I mean 10 seats wide and three cabins long! We got two full meals, watched 5 movies, and slept of course. When we arrived in Ramstein Air Base we were immediately sent to customs (which was literally a passport check for military personnel) and sent on a bus to Vilseck, Germany. The bus ride was 6 long hours on top of the 24 hour long trip it took to get to Germany (because of my layovers and connecting fligh...

Blonde Jokes...

Image
Just a quick snapshot of what I've been up to in the past week.... My husband says he is excited to tell blonde jokes now...that I am back to blonde! It's been a while since I've updated. But when you hear about what I've been up to I am sure you'll understand. So he says- (off the top of my memory) A blonde walks into a store She asks the store owner 'How much for this TV?' The store owner replies 'We don't sell TVs to Blondes'. She leaves the store, dies her hair red and goes back She asks the store owner again 'How much for this TV?' The store owner replies 'Again, We don't sell TVs to Blondes'. The blonde says 'How did you know it was me?' The store owner replies 'Because that is a toaster, not a TV!'. The BEST part about when he told me this joke, was when my good friend didn't understand what he meant. I immediately got it, proving that at heart, I'm probably not THAT blonde. However...

Style

Image
I have started 'following' a few different blogs on this new blog website that I have created and I noticed a blog called " You Don’t Have to Be a Hippie – The Style Manual for Military Spouses" from SpouseBuzz.com. Because I married a hippie and my best friend happens to be a hippie... this article was sure to catch my eye. Much to my surprise, it was nothing about being a hippie. It addressed a more pressing issue (on my end anyways) that I never thought I would have to consider. WHAT THE HELL DO I WEAR? My husband gets to walk around in his uniform that he loves and his dress blues, which he looks amazing in, even though he will tell you otherwise. In this picture, I found a tight fitting navy blue sweater dress, wore leggings and boots with heels. I also loved how the dress coat looks with his uniform in this picture. This picture was taken on his graduation day; a day when everyone is sort of dressed up. What am I suppose to wear around post? Currently, I h...

AdvoCare: It's only fitting!

Image
So naturally, I have to talk about one of my avid hobbies. It's almost to the point where it's something that I live by... and not because I want to sell it to you, but because I haven't ever had the chance to share my story with people that I don't talk to face to face! Sure, you can go to my website and read it, but let's face it, being American we want things to be quick, easy and cheap. We don't go to my website to read about what AdvoCare has done for me; you're going to go to my website to see what products I sell and how expensive they are. But doing that will totally screw you out of my 30% discount. Technically on my website, I am not allowed to tell you what AdvoCare has done for me and my health, because I don't want to lead you to think that it is doctor recommended, cures diseases or stop cancer from spreading. IT DOESN'T. However, it can help you make some serious changes to your lifestyle that will help all of the worries about ...

So where do I start?

Image
This is a photo of the Rhine River in Germany. It is the border on the west coast of Germany, separating the country from other countries like France, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Belgium. It is a beautiful sight! One that I will be seeing in another month or two. My husband's FDS or first duty station is Grafenwoehr/Vilseck Germany. He also discovered that he is assigned to a unit that is most likely deploying sometime this summer. So within a week I found out we were moving to Germany, I quit my job, and I discovered that there was a huge possibility of deployment in the very near future. All things that I never would have expected to happen in my life a year ago this time... And all I hear is "That's the Army!".  So now where do I go from here? I have been reading, doing research, shopping, spending countless amounts of money doing paperwork and I still feel as though I know nothing. I am waiting for the movers to schedule a time to come and pack all of our bel...
